About me

I am Carly Hunter, an occupational therapist (OT) and have worked in child and youth mental health since graduating from a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy in 2017. I’m passionate about enhancing the health and wellbeing of young people through functional recovery and advocacy by highlighting that a person is not defined or limited by their circumstances.

I have had the privilege of working alongside neurodiverse individuals and people with mental health concerns in government and non-government services. I am committed to providing compassionate and high level of care through using a client-centred and evidence-based approach.

Outside of work I enjoy spending time at the beach, engaging in pottery and playing with my dog, Honey.

My Philosophy

I believe in empowering children, teenagers and young adults to thrive by embracing their unique strengths, nurturing their mental well-being, and fostering meaningful engagement in daily life. My approach is rooted in neuro-affirming care, recognising that every individual learns, grows, and experiences the world differently.

Through occupational therapy and holistic care, I strive to support the whole person—mind, body, and spirit. By creating compassionate, playful, and inclusive environments, I help young people develop the confidence and skills they need to navigate challenges, achieve personal goals, and flourish in every aspect of life.

My mission is to partner with families, educators, and communities to guide each person toward a future where they feel capable, connected, and valued for who they truly are.
